I am a Programmer/Analyst in the UCLA Human Genetics Department. This generic government title means I do a little bit of everything and have a working title of Systems Architect/Software Engineer.
I am also a teacher, student, independent consultant, and former Chief Operations Officer.

My current technical interests are centered around High-Performance Computing, Distributed Filesystems, large-scale unified storage, and automation, using exclusively free and open source software on cheap commodity hardware.
I also enjoy auto repair and racing, construction and real estate, entrepreneurship and investing, surfing, and beer brewing.
